In a landmark collaboration, Britain's Railway 200 and India's Yash Raj Films (YRF) are uniting to celebrate the unifying power of love through a unique UK-India cultural initiative.

This partnership coincides with two significant milestones in 2025: the 200th anniversary of the modern railway and the 30th anniversary of YRF's iconic film, "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge" (DDLJ).

As part of the Railway 200 celebrations, this collaboration will highlight the enduring romance of train travel, a theme central to DDLJ. The film, which has become a cultural touchstone for Indians and South Asians worldwide, features pivotal scenes shot at London's King's Cross Railway Station, symbolizing the connection between the UK and India.

YRF is bringing DDLJ's timeless love story to the stage with "Come Fall in Love – The DDLJ Musical" (CFIL). Directed by Aditya Chopra, the original director of DDLJ, this English-language musical is set to premiere at the Manchester Opera House on May 29, 2025, running until June 21, 2025. The production features an original score of 18 English songs, with music by Vishal Dadlani and Sheykhar Ravjiani, and book and lyrics by Nell Benjamin.

To commemorate this collaboration, immersive activations are planned at railway stations in Manchester and London, celebrating how love can bridge cultures through the shared experience of train travel.

Suzanne Donnelly, Executive Director of Railway 200, expressed her enthusiasm: "We’re very pleased to partner with Yash Raj Films and celebrate the enduring romance of rail and power of connection across the world."

Akshaye Widhani, CEO of Yash Raj Films, added: "Together, we want to spread the message of how unifying love can be and how celebrating diversity and inclusivity is the need of the hour."

This collaboration not only honors the rich histories of Britain's railways and Indian cinema but also underscores the universal themes of love and connection that transcend borders.
